Interest Meeting for the ICC Teacher Advisory Board
February 8th, 6:30pm
The ICC Teacher Advisory Board is a selected group of Central Indiana music teachers who meet 4 times per year at the ICC office to provide support to the ICC and area teachers, as well as each other, and to discuss opinions regarding current situations in local music education. TAB members receive several benefits with membership, including CDs, concert tickets, and discounted professional development through the ICC.
If interested in joining the Board, please attend the next meeting on Thursday, February 8th at Butler University Lilly Hall. The meeting will start in Lilly Hall Room 133 for a 15-minute observation of ICC’s Jubilate choir for children with special needs, and will then reconvene in the ICC Office conference room for the remainder of the business items. You may also email Lauren Southard at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in joining the Board and unable to attend the February 8th meeting.
Free Teacher Workshop: Contemporary Folk Chinese Choral Repertoire with the Shenzhen Golden Bell Youth Chorus
February 19th, 10:00-11:00am
The Shenzhen Golden Bell Youth Chorus will be visiting Indianapolis in February, and will be offering both a concert and teacher workshop.
The FREE concert will be performed in conjunction with ICC’s Cantantes Angeli choir on Sunday, February 18th at 4:00pm at Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel, IN. More information can be found here: https://icchoir.org/chinese-shenzhen-golden-bell-youth-chorus-concert/

3rd Annual Summer Teacher Symposium
June 4-7, 9:00am-2:30pm
ICC’s 3rd Annual Summer Teacher Symposium will offer new guest speakers and an expanded range of session topics. The symposium is intended as a yearly opportunity for professional growth and renewal for those who have attended in the past as well as new friends of the ICC. Veteran Symposium members who have attended one or more years will be designated by their nametag and noted on their certificate of attendance. All participants receive a certificate of professional development hours completed. Cost for the 4 days is only $25, and includes lunch and snacks.

- Integrating Instrumental Ensembles into Choral Performance – Adam Bodany, Assistant Professor & Director of Orchestras, Purdue University & Artistic Director of New World Youth Orchestras
- Music Advocacy – Lane Velayo, Executive Director, Indiana Music Education Association
- Appropriate session offerings for teachers actively participating in general music as well as in various levels of choral instruction.
