DIRECTING MUSIC AT PLAY, AND HENDRICKS COUNTY – BROWNSBURG: PREPARATORY CHOIR

Ben Batman is in his twelfth year teaching music, and ninth year at Mount Comfort Elementary School located outside of Greenfield, Indiana. He teaches K-5 general music and 4th-5th choir. This is his sixth year working with the ICC, in which he teaches Music At Play at the ICC Performing Arts Center and Brownsburg Preparatory Choir. He has completed his Orff Certification through Anderson University, as well as taken additional course work in Dalcroze, First Steps in Music, and Conversational Solfege. He also completed Kodály level 2 certification through the University of St. Thomas.

He is a member of the Indiana Orff Schulwerk Association, in which he has presented for chapter share workshops and serves on the board as the membership chair. He has presented workshops for the Indiana Music Education Association (IMEA), as well as serves on the IMEA board as the recording secretary. In addition to teaching, he is a saxophonist with the Circle City Sidewalk Stompers Clown Band.
