A Message from Mrs. Hughley
Dear Bella Voce Families,
Thanks for working diligently in my absence last Sunday! I know Ms. Palmer gave you some very wise ideas.
In general, Chispa and City Called Heaven are in great shape chorally. Keep them fresh and memorized, and they will continue to progress musically.
Wade in the Water is obviously our most difficult piece, and there are still many who do not feel comfortable with the parts.
Here is the game plan:
- The most difficult parts to hear and tune are the inner parts: Soprano 2 and Alto 1. I will be holding a sectional for Soprano 2 and Alto 1 for all who are available from 1:30 to 2:00 this Sunday, October 19 prior to rehearsal.
- I cannot stress the importance of taking the time to practice your part at home. Each part is posted online, so I want you all to plan to sing through your part at least once per day from now until Sunday. It should only take 3 minutes and 50 seconds, but it will help immensely!
- We will be having a break out session during rehearsal this week for individual parts to work together for 15 minutes on Wade in the Water. Then there will be a group assessment for each section to further strengthen our security!
As far as the large group numbers are concerned, there will be an optional dress rehearsal on Monday evening, November 3rd at Eastern Star Church from 6pm to 8pm so that we can rehearsal tutti pieces in the space and get to know the singers at Eastern Star. I know many of you may have Monday evening conflicts, but if you do not, please try your very best to attend!
Thanks again, all of you, for your continued dedication and hard work. Together we are going to make beautiful music!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hughley
