Did you know that the ICC goes beyond just weekly choirs?

In addition to performing choirs, the ICC offers unique outreach programs and classes that bring the choral music expertise of ICC into the lives of even more children across central Indiana. Opening these opportunities for life-transforming music to all children is what the ICC is at its core – and has been for the last 40 years!

One program in particular, the Neighborhood Choir Academy, brings the ICC choir experience directly to singers in their own community. During the ICC’s 40^th anniversary season a total of 8 Neighborhood Choir Academies were offered! This spring alone, there are three:

• IPS 34 in Indianapolis (only open to current students)
• Upland-Area in northeast Indiana
• UIndy-Area in Indianapolis

Children in these areas of the city and state aren’t as close to a traditional ICC choir site, so having the ICC come to them means that they can more easily access the ICC’s transformative programming.

Participating singers from each Neighborhood Choir Academy not only receive choral music instruction from the world renown ICC, but they get the opportunity to perform alongside ICC choir singers too. A few times per season, the ICC welcomes Neighborhood Choir Academy singers to the stage for a big season concert.

For some, it may be their first time on iconic stages across the city and for some, it might be their first concert ever!
