Jeff Braun

DIRECTING MUSIC AT PLAY, MUSIC AT PLAY ENRICHMENT PRESCHOOL, AND FOUNDATIONS CHOIR
Jeff Braun is a dedicated professional with a diverse education and nonprofit management background. Jeff recently served as the Manager of Volunteer Services at Special Olympics Indiana, overseeing a comprehensive volunteer management program, and fostering relationships with individuals, schools, businesses, and civic organizations. Before this role, Jeff made a significant impact as an Elementary Music Teacher at Fishback Creek Public Academy and Central Elementary School, where he planned and implemented curriculum for over 500-700 students, directed choirs, and coordinated performances and informances. Jeff received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2011 at Central and the Superintendent Above and Beyond Award in 2014.
Jeff’s commitment to the arts and education is further demonstrated through his work as a Coordinator at Pike Performing Arts Center, where he created programming to link education and the arts for students in Pike Township. Additionally, his experience as an Assistant Choral Director at Pike High School and involvement in community performances showcase his dedication to music education and community engagement.
Jeff is a Colson Fellow (2023) and has a Masters of Elementary Music Education from Anderson University (2009), where he completed all 3 levels of Orff Training, World Drumming and First Steps and Conversational Solfege. He also completed studies in the Master of Education program at Indiana Wesleyan University, specializing in student motivation and incorporating students with special needs. Jeff received his Bachelor of Music, Music Education, and Voice principal from Butler University (1992). He also won the Student Teacher of the Year Award that same year.
Jeff is a member of New Hope Christian Church in Whitestown, serving on the Worship Team and as a Deacon Apprentice. Jeff has been a Unified Partner for Washington Township Special Olympics in golf for 28 years and the head coach of the golf team for five years.
Jeff lives in Whitestown with his wonderful wife Jenny and has been blessed to be married for 31 years. Jeff is excited to join the Indianapolis Children’s Choir Staff.
