Hey y’all! Great rehearsal tonight! I think we sounded great! Anyways, let’s get started! We’ve got a lot to memorize!
In general: MEMORIZE! The more we know the words, the more things we can perfect. Like enunciation! Also, keep phrases long and connected, know when to breathe and when not to breathe. And don’t forget to check the CA website! All of the recordings are on there, make sure to listen to them! (Gloria Fanfare!)
First three: Angels, There is faint music, and Donkey carol. In Angels, make sure not to drop off the end of phrases. Also, look over the last page. It’s a bit different than the rest of the piece, so make sure you know what you’re doing. For There is Faint Music, check out the Dynamics. Also, Altos, know you part. Your part is a bit harder because of the harmonies, so make sure you know that. And don’t forget Frosty hills! For Donkey carol, just make sure you know the words.
Next three: Arurru, Silver Bells, Panis Angelicus. In Arurru, make sure the phrasing is on point, and memorize the words. Make sure you know the rhythms for “city”. It changes with each phrase, so watch the music! And don’t forget to take the coda! Altos, check out pages 5-6 on Panis Angelicus. You’ve got a new part, so check it out!
Thanks for reading! It means a lot to those who do, because it shows you care! I really appreciate you guys, and I can’t wait to see you again. Have a good day!
