Ed Hennes

DIRECTING ICC PERFORMING ARTS CENTER PREPARATORY CHOIR AND BEGINNING LEVEL CHOIR
Ed Hennes currently serves as the music teacher at Maplewood Elementary in Wayne
Township. He is excited to be returning to the Indianapolis Children’s Choir where he will be directing the Beginning Level Choir and Preparatory Choir at the ICCPAC. Previously he served as the Cherub Choir director for Young Voices of Indianapolis and as a section leader and soloist at Castleton United Methodist Church. You may have seen him recently in Indianapolis Opera’s production of Carmen, Tosca, Elixir of Love, La Bohème, and South Pacific. He has previously sung with the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus, Indianapolis Arts Chorale, and Circle City Chamber Choir. He has also served as the music teacher at St. Pius X and the music director at Mary, Queen of Peace in Danville.
Ed holds a Master of Music Education degree from Anderson University in addition to receiving his Orff-Schulwerk certification and has completed his Kodály certification coursework through the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from DePauw University in 2011. He resides in Indianapolis with his partner and fellow music educator, Ed.
