(Virtual Session begins two weeks after in-person sessions. The virtual format will be available for one month.)

An online platform will be available for virtual participants to submit questions and have discussions as they navigate through the recorded sessions.

A certificate of professional development hours completed will be provided.

We’re always evolving to meet the needs of our community of colleagues. Each year, the ICC Teacher Symposium designs new sessions and hosts special guest speakers!  Every Symposium is different – join us this year for our 9th annual Symposium!

Now Available:  Comfort Level Tracks

Split sessions will provide a choice based on the level of experience and comfort level with the session topic. Ex: Vocal Pedagogy for experienced singers, as well as an introduction to vocal technique for those teachers less experienced in the choral world!

The Symposium welcomes all music teachers and directors – from all backgrounds – schools, churches, community choirs, and elementary through high school.

Symposium participants have the opportunity to observe the ICC’s Summer Music Camp student sessions and are welcome to attend the Choral Fest: A World Showcase concert performance on July 18. A complimentary ticket will be provided.

Interpreting choral music for diverse audiences in a way that is relevant to young people while maintaining the highest standards of music education and performance sums up the work of Robyn Reeves Lana. Now in her second year on the choral faculty of Miami University, Lana is the founder of Cincinnati Youth Choir, Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Ms. Lana has served as conductor and clinician across the United States and at internationally acclaimed venues such as The Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing), The World Expo (Milan), St. Peter’s Basilica (Vatican City), Minatomirai Hall (Yokohama). She has served as clinician in over 30 states internationally in Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, Ireland, China, and looks forward to opportunities in Hong Kong and Costa Rica. She has been a featured conductor at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Cincinnati’s Music Hall. Lana has served on the choral faculty at Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Lana is the editor of a choral series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing. Her book, Voices in Harmony is a collaborative effort that celebrates many successful philosophies in choral education. Additional publications include ACDA’s Choral Journal for which she also served as guest editor of three issues, the Chorister’s Guild, and Chamber Music America.

Achieving extensive praise from collaborating conductors of orchestral and operatic repertoire for children, Lana regularly prepares her choirs for partnerships with the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops, the Cincinnati May Festival, Cincinnati Opera, and CCM choirs and orchestras. CYC is featured on two Telarc label recordings with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the direction of the late Maestro Erich Kunzel.

Lana has served ACDA national as Children’s Choir and Community Youth Repertoire and Standards Chair and Chair of ACDA Advocacy and Collaboration. Prior to her national service, she served as Children’s Choir Chair for the Ohio Choral Directors Associaiton and for Central Division ACDA. She currently serves on the Chorus America Board of Directors.
Lana earned her bachelor and master degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She holds Level III Orff-Schulwerk Certification and has done focused study on children’s choirs at Butler University.

Ms. Lana was celebrated in the book Imagineers • Impresarios • Inventors: Cincinnati’s Arts and the POWER OF HER which tells the inspiring stories of the formidable influence of women in the arts throughout Cincinnati’s dynamic arts history. Additional awards include CCM’s Distinguished Alumna Award, a gold medal in the World Choir Games placing first in the United States, the American Prize for Choral Performance, the Chorus America ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, Chorus America Award for Education and Community Engagement, and Cincinnati CityBeat’s Best Local Vocal Arts Group.
