Over 100 ICC and IYC Alumni Sing, Reconnect

On January 2 and 3, the ICC and ICC Alumni Association held its first Alumni Weekend. On January 2, over 100 Alumni joined with the Indianapolis Youth Chorale in a packed rehearsal room on the Butler Campus. The 2 hour rehearsal lead by Henry Leck, founder and artistic director of the ICC, was part of the first-ever Alumni Weekend. The weekend also included more rehearsals the next day and a very special performance, to a full house at Allisonville Christian Church, that included the Cantantes Angeli choir.

“We all have one thing in common: a life-changing, timeless experience – the Indianapolis Children’s Choir,” said ICC Alumni President, Elise Vreede. “Because of that shared experience, we were able to come together so easily and make such beautiful music. It is proof that the Indianapolis Children’s Choir is a magical place.”

Here are a few stats from Alumni Weekend:

• Over 100 Indianapolis Children’s Choir Alumni participated.

• Alumni made the journey from as far away as Texas and Massachusetts.

• 4 ICC Founders participated. Recently graduated ICC alumni also participated – the age range spanned a generation.

• Some alumni that participated currently have children in the ICC.

Dates for the 2016 Alumni Weekend have been announced: January 2 and 3, 2016.
