OUTREACH & MARKETING COORDINATOR – DIRECTING AACC CONCERT, AACC PREPARATORY, ICC PREPARATORY, ICC BEGINNING LEVEL CHOIRS, AND MORE

Caitlyn Lana McGlynn is a passionate music educator, conductor, and arts administrator dedicated to inspiring young people through exceptional musical experiences. She is excited to serve as the Outreach & Marketing Coordinator for the Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC), where she will assist with recruitment and community engagement efforts while conducting choirs across multiple ICC programs and locations throughout central Indiana.

In her conducting role, Caitlyn directs the Anderson Area Children’s Choir Concert Choir and Preparatory Choir, the Preparatory Choir and Beginning Level Choir at the ICC Performing Arts Center, and will take on additional conducting roles as well. Through her work, she is committed to creating meaningful musical experiences that foster artistry, confidence, belonging, and personal growth.

Prior to joining ICC, Caitlyn served as Managing Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC), where she oversaw marketing, communications, and daily operations while conducting Con Brio, CYC’s advanced middle school choir. Her connection to the organization spans more than two decades, beginning as a singer from first through twelfth grade, continuing as a collegiate intern, and culminating in leadership roles on both the artistic and administrative staff. During her nine years as a conductor, Caitlyn led singers across multiple ensemble levels, directing Vivace, Allegro, and Vivo Coro (CYC’s training-level choirs) for eight years before assuming leadership of Con Brio. She also served as Administrator of the Queen City Choral Festival, creating transformative opportunities for young singers from across the country.

Caitlyn earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Her teaching experience includes serving as an elementary general music specialist at Northstar Classical School in Middletown, Ohio, teaching middle school orchestra in Texas, and spending seven years teaching beginning orchestra in Mason City Schools. Her diverse background in both vocal and instrumental music education informs her holistic approach to developing young musicians.

A sought-after presenter and mentor on arts administration and choir operations, Caitlyn presented at the 2026 American Choral Directors Association Children’s & Community Youth Choir Directors Retreat, leading a session entitled Low Budget, High Impact: Smart Tools for Choir Management. She holds Level I Orff-Schulwerk Certification through the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, Chorus America, the American String Teachers Association, and the National Association for Music Education.

Caitlyn believes that every child deserves access to high-quality music education and strives to build communities where young people can discover their voices, develop lifelong friendships, and grow into confident leaders through the power of music.
