Dr. Chris Ann Lessly

DIRECTING UPLAND CONCERT AND PREPARATORY CHOIRS

Dr. Chris Ann Lessly currently serves as a K-6 General Music Educator in the Warsaw (IN) Community Schools. Previously, she served as Professor of Music and Coordinator of Music Education at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Dr. Lessly held similar positions at Luther College (Iowa) and University of Montevallo (Alabama) and began her career as a music educator in the Rolla, MO Public Schools. Dr. Lessly holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Central Missouri. She earned the Master of Music Education and the Doctor of Philosophy (Music Education) degrees from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She holds memberships in The National Association for Music Education, Indiana Music Educators Association, and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. Dr. Lessly has served as a music education clinician in the Midwestern and Southern United States. A native of Quincy, Illinois, Dr. Lessly makes her home in Marion, Indiana, where she has been joined by her mother. She has three daughters, Caroline and Cameron who were adopted from China, and Claudia, from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
