Dear ICC Singers and families,
On behalf of all of the directors and staff at the ICC, I hope you, your families, and those you love are well and safe.
Like your children, we have all been challenged with the physical distancing from one other and setting up new systems and routines. This has been a time of learning and reflection, for sure. We have found it to be true that with great challenge has come great opportunity At the ICC, we are meeting these challenges head-on and are enthusiastic about our growth!
During this time, we have been able to harness the creative power of our staff and take on the many challenges of this new age, which we believe will make us stronger as an organization for your children.
In combining both virtual and in-person learning, we have created an innovative new program that will enable us to use technology for all singers beyond what many organizations have ever dreamed of. And we are leading this charge among all known children’s choirs.
We have made it possible for not only our current roster of singers in central Indiana, but also singers from around the country, to be involved in the Indianapolis Children’s Choir!
This summer we are launching ICC Connects (or ICC E-Campus), a digital network that will continue to respond to our ever-evolving ways of learning, performing, and gathering.
Here are some further ICC developments:
This year’s Final Concert
The safety of our singers and families is the most important thing to ICC. Information made public this week indicates that until testing is widely available and other safety precautions are certified, public singing is not a safe activity. We know the singers have worked hard to learn their music for the concerts. Therefore, ICC will create a virtual concert where every singer will have the opportunity to perform with their choir. Instructions for participating in the virtual choir will come in a separate communication from your director.
9th Grade Recognition
The regular program that is provided for 9th grade singers will be held online on June 10th. A special visit by ICC staff to 9th grade homes will be on June 11th to deliver awards! Watch for more information.
12th Grade Graduation
Seniors should be on the lookout for yard signs recognizing them as graduates of ICC on May 17th. The 12th grade graduation will be a virtual graduation held on July 10th. A special visit by ICC staff to Seniors’ homes will be on July 11th to deliver awards! Watch for more information.
CICC and AACC will receive a separate e-mail from their directors outlining how we will recognize CICC’s 8th and 9th graders and AACC’s 12th grade graduates.

And so, we move forward with plans in place for an exciting future (including a trip to Carnegie Hall next year!). As Walt Disney said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” We are steadfast in our mission and vision. We come together as artists through innovative and dynamic music education as we continue to build a community that nurtures and cares for all through a pursuit of excellence.
We know that this spring was merely a dip into what the ICC can, and will, accomplish using technology and embracing life as it stands now and making the most of it. Moving forward we will be more innovative, more unique, and more ICC. Because that is why we are all here. We are ICC and we are limitless in what we can accomplish together as a family. The children need us and community support. Please help support this program, especially now, when children are looking to us for inspiration, hope, and a place to be artistically and emotionally fulfilled so that we can all move forward together and provide our children with the innovative resources they deserve.
We appreciate you verbal support, your emotional support, your evangelism about the good of the ICC, and your continued financial support.
